Vesico-Ureteric Reflux (VUR)
- Reflux is noted in up to 40% of fetuses
- Female predominant (in less than 1 year ⇒ risk of VUR is same in females and males)
- Male > 1 year with 1st UTI ⇒ look for VUR
- Female: 2nd/3rd UTI ⇒ look for VUR.
- Peak incidence at 3 years
- Can be unilateral & bilateral (60%)
- 60% resolve on their own as they grow older.
